Black Ops 7 is here, and with it comes an exciting new chapter for zombies enthusiasts. The latest update, titled Ashes of the Damned, brings not only terrifying new enemies and locations but also a slew of gameplay innovations. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or new to the franchise, this guide will break down everything you need to know about the upcoming Ashes of the Damned experience, and highlight the latest features players will be diving into.
New Locations & Story Developments
The Ashes of the Damned map introduces a series of chilling new locations. From the eerie Janice Towers Plaza in Liberty Falls, which appears to have crossed over from the Dark Ether in 1991, to the foggy wilderness of Blackwater Lake, the map's design promises a mix of haunting atmosphere and challenging gameplay.
What’s particularly exciting for lore fans is the inclusion of historical sites like the Soviet-era Cosmo Drrome, where Black Ops 1 character Weaver lost his eye in 1963. These locations, built in different decades, provide not only visual appeal but also intriguing storylines that tie into the broader Black Ops universe.
Augments & Unlocks: A New Way to Customize Your Play
One of the most anticipated features of Black Ops 7 is the augment research system, which allows players to equip various upgrades to their perks, ammo mods, and field upgrades. Players will need to reach level 11 before they can unlock augment research, which can significantly enhance gameplay.
You can equip one major and one minor augment for each item. For example, you can improve your Deadwire perk or enhance your stamina with new research options. The system offers an exciting layer of strategy, allowing players to tweak their playstyle and experiment with new combinations to suit different situations.
New Tactical Tools & Lethals
Black Ops 7 introduces several exciting new tactical tools and lethal equipment, perfect for fans of experimenting with gadgets. A fan favorite, the Hunterbot, provides a personal defense option that targets and homes in on special or elite enemies. Though it’s a bit pricier at 250 salvage, it could be a game-changer for certain strategies.
Tacticals have also received some love. The Psych Grenade, which causes brain rot on enemies, could prove invaluable when dealing with swarms of zombies, while the Sight Grenade provides another unique twist, potentially altering your enemies' perception. As always, there are several new gadgets to test and master.
Unfortunately, some older favorites like the Smoke Grenade and Shock Charge are absent, leaving a hole in the tactical options. However, the new tools more than make up for it.
Black Ops 7 Bot Lobbies and Player Progression
For those looking to level up quickly or just have a bit of fun, Black Ops 7 Bot Lobbies are a great option. These lobbies allow you to face off against AI-controlled enemies rather than human players, making them ideal for new players or those wanting to practice.
While there are trusted BO7 bot lobby sellers online who offer lobbies with additional perks, it’s important to tread carefully. Make sure to do your research and ensure you're not falling victim to sketchy sellers who could harm your account or steal your personal information.
Unlocking Equipment and Perks
Another major change is the introduction of unlockable equipment. Players must now unlock items like armor plates and self-revives with tokens, and the usual perk progression system has been tweaked. Once you’ve reached level 9, you’ll unlock a unique Power Keg for your first prestige. Keep in mind, unlock tokens become vital as you advance, especially if you're a fan of the more specialized gear.
But the main concern for many players revolves around the changes to killstreaks. While some fan favorites, like the War Machine and Death Machine, are notably absent from the launch, the DAWG dog, a deployable armored groundcraft, has made its way into the game. Expect more changes as future updates are released, but for now, this is the landscape we’re working with.
Ashes of the Damned looks to be a thrilling new addition to the Black Ops series. The new environments, augment system, and fresh tactical gadgets promise a truly unique experience. While some classic features have been removed or changed, there's still plenty of new content to explore. The biggest question remains: will the new changes improve the overall Black Ops experience, or will they feel like gimmicks? Only time will tell, but the Ashes of the Damned update has certainly set the stage for an exciting next chapter.
