If you've been lucky enough to get your hands on the Nissan GT-R Black Edition R35 Forza Edition (FE) in Forza Horizon 6, you already know this thing isn't your average Godzilla. Playground Games and Turn 10 built this specific version as a pure tribute to those extreme, real-world drag strip monsters. We are talking about a complete layout overhaul: it strips away the legendary all-wheel-drive system and drops a massive rear-wheel-drive setup right out of the gate, complete with a functional parachute and a wheelie bar hanging off the back.
With the right build, this machine caps out between an insane 2,790 and 3,000 horsepower. Because it runs massive rear drag slicks and skinny tires up front, you can completely forget about taking corners. This car is optimized for one thing only: absolute, terrifying straight-line speed. If you want to dominate the quarter-mile and half-mile drag strips and log consistent 5.6 to 6.0-second runs, this competitive tuning setup will get you exactly where you want to be.
Required Build Upgrades
Before jumping straight into the tuning menu, we need to prep the car by maximizing power and stripping out every single pound of unnecessary weight. Head over to the custom upgrade shop and apply these components first:
Engine: Fully max out the stock VR38 engine upgrades. Make sure to add the Anti-Lag Turbo system. This is non-negotiable if you want to hit that ridiculous 2,800+ HP ceiling and keep the turbo spooled at the line.
Drivetrain: Grab the Race Differential. Since this Forza Edition is natively RWD, you don't need to worry about conversion swaps—it handles like a true drag rail right out of the box.
Platform & Handling: Install the Drag/Race Suspension components. This is critical because it unlocks the full geometry adjustment sliders we need for the tune.
Wheels: Pick the lightest multi-piece rims available in the shop. It might not look like much, but shedding an extra 40 lbs of rotating mass makes a massive difference in how fast you spin up off the line.
The Ultimate Drag Tuning Setup
Now that the foundation is built, let's look at the specific adjustments. The philosophy here is maximizing rear squat, holding traction through the initial hit, and maintaining a perfect tire patch on the pavement.
Tires & Differential
Front Tire Pressure: 35.0 PSI (Keeps rolling resistance to an absolute minimum on the front skinnies)
Rear Tire Pressure: 15.0 PSI (Maximized contact patch for 2,800+ HP launch grip)
Differential: Acceleration: 100% / Deceleration: 0% (Locks the rear wheels instantly for straight-line power)
Gearing
Getting the gearing right is a balancing act. Adjust your Final Drive so your 0-60 mph and 0-100 mph telemetry stats are at their lowest possible times. If you find yourself spinning too violently in 1st gear, stretch the gear out a bit (higher speed/lower number value) to tame the launch.
Final Drive: 2.20 to 2.40 (Tweak based on track length. Use 2.40 for shorter quarter-mile tracks to accelerate faster, or drop closer to 2.20 if you are running the longer half-mile strips to avoid bouncing off the limiter at the top end.)

Anti-Roll Bars (ARBs): Front: 1.00 / Rear: 65.00 (An incredibly stiff rear keeps the chassis completely level and straight during launches)
Springs & Dampers
To get the ultimate weight transfer, we want a loose front end that rises up immediately, and an incredibly rigid rear end that forces the wheelie bar to dig right into the pavement.
Springs: Front: Soft / Rear: Very Stiff (Allows the rear wheelie bar to dig and squat properly)
Ride Height: Front: Maximum Height / Rear: Minimum Height (Promotes immediate weight transfer to the rear drive tires the moment you drop the clutch)
Rebound Stiffness: Front: 12.0 / Rear: 3.0
Bump Stiffness: Front: 3.0 / Rear: 12.0
Aero
Downforce: Set to minimum/speed priority if any adjustable aero options are unlocked. Downforce creates drag, and drag is the enemy when you are trying to cross the trap line at peak velocity.
How to Launch for 5-Second Runs
Even with a perfect tune, your execution at the starting line determines whether you land a top global leaderboard ranking or just wheelspin into a wall. If you want those consistent 5-second slips, master this launch routine:
Stage the Car: At the starting line, press and hold both the handbrake and the clutch down at the exact same time.
Spool the Turbos: Smash the throttle pedal all the way down. Hold it completely pinned so your revs sit right at the Redline. You will hear the anti-lag system popping and banging—this is building maximum boost before you even move.
The Release: Watch the lights. The millisecond they turn green, dump both the handbrake and the clutch instantly. Do not roll into it; snap release them.
The Shifts: Keep your eyes glued to the tachometer. Execute Perfect Shifts right before hitting the rev limiter. This keeps the car dead center in its massive, 2,800+ horsepower power band all the way down the track.
It takes a bit of practice to get the muscle memory down for the shift timing, but once you nail it, this R35 Forza Edition will absolutely fly. Take it out to the horizon drag strips, tweak the final drive to match your specific runway, and go claim your spot on the leaderboards.
