Understanding the Core Progression Loop
In Aion 2, progression is a mix of vertical upgrades (enhancing gear, unlocking stronger items) and horizontal systems (cards, pantheon bonuses, and account-wide stats). If you focus on only one side, your growth slows down significantly.
The fastest players treat gear progression as a system:
Leveling through main story content first
Evenly upgrading all gear slots
Farming high-value dungeons daily
Converting resources into long-term stat systems
Once you combine these, your Gear Score climbs steadily instead of stalling in mid-game.
For general game reference, see Aion 2 Overview.
Early Game Strategy (Levels 1–45)
The early game in Aion 2 is not about farming—it is about unlocking systems as quickly as possible. Your goal is to reach level 45 efficiently while building a stable foundation for upgrades.
Focus on main story progression
Prioritize yellow main story quests above everything else. They provide the best experience-to-time ratio and unlock core systems needed for gearing. Killing mobs outside of quests is generally inefficient and should be avoided unless required.
Use side content only when stuck
If you hit a difficulty wall, use side content as a bridge:
Regional green quests for quick XP and resources
Sealed Dungeons for gear and upgrade materials
Stronghold activities for short-term power boosts
Do not treat these as primary progression paths. They exist to smooth out bottlenecks.
Upgrade everything evenly
One of the most important early-game mistakes is over-investing in a single gear piece. Instead, distribute Enhancement Stones across all equipment slots.
You gain more overall GS by bringing everything to +1 or +2 than pushing one item to +5 while leaving others untouched. The system rewards balance more than specialization at this stage.
More details on gear enhancement mechanics can be found here: Gear Enhancing System.
Collect Feathers and Empyrean Traces
Exploration matters more than it first appears. Feathers (Empyrean Traces) found in cities and open world zones feed into the Monolith system, which unlocks skill points and permanent stat gains.
This is one of the earliest sources of “free” power that does not depend on RNG gear drops.
Mid-Game Progression (Gear Score 1300–1700)
Once you reach level 45, progression shifts from leveling to farming specific systems. This is where most players slow down if they do not optimize their routine.
Prioritize accessories first
Accessories often give better immediate returns than armor upgrades. PvP accessories purchased with Abyss Points (AP) from the Battlefield Trade Shop are especially efficient.
They are relatively cheap, and they provide immediate boosts to survivability and damage. In mid-game, this is often the fastest GS increase per currency spent.
Fire Temple farming loop
The Fire Temple Expedition becomes one of your most efficient farming routes.
Key approach:
Use Oda Energy efficiently
Focus on side bosses instead of rushing the final boss
Expect consistent gold item drop value over time
This dungeon is not about speed-clearing—it is about maximizing drop efficiency per run.
Substance morphing upgrades
A strong mid-game spike comes from item morphing:
Upgrade green belts and amulets to +10
Morph them into blue-tier gear
Repeat the process into higher rarity tiers
This creates sudden Gear Score jumps without needing rare drops.
Complete daily duties consistently
Daily missions (J menu) are essential. They provide:
Enhancement Stones
Kina currency
Progress materials for steady upgrades
Missing dailies slows progression more than inefficient farming ever will.
End-Game Push (Gear Score 1700–2400+)
End-game progression in Aion 2 becomes a layered system where multiple upgrade tracks contribute to your final GS. At this stage, efficiency matters more than raw grinding.
Arcana Cards from Deus Research Base
One of the strongest GS boosts comes from Arcana Cards. Farming the Deus Research Base allows you to collect gold-tier cards that can add hundreds of Gear Score without changing equipment.
This is one of the highest-impact systems in the entire end-game.
Transcendence system unlock
Around 1650–1700 GS, Transcendence becomes available. This system functions as a power multiplier layer rather than a direct gear upgrade.
It scales your existing stats and helps bridge the gap toward the 2000 GS range. Ignoring it creates a noticeable slowdown in progression.
Vakron’s Sky Island dungeon
At 1800+ GS, Vakron’s Sky Island becomes a key farming location. It provides:
High-tier gold gear drops
Faster upgrade progression potential
Efficient scaling toward 2400+ GS
This is one of the most important stepping stones into high-end content.
Pantheon system accumulation
The Pantheon system is often underestimated. Even low-tier items like green and blue statues contribute permanent account-wide stats.
Registering:
Statues
Frameworks
Colossi
creates long-term passive growth that stacks over time. While it does not feel impactful immediately, it becomes a major baseline GS contributor in the long run.

Fast progression in Aion 2 is not about grinding longer—it is about following the correct system order. Main story progression gets you to the unlock point, balanced upgrades keep your GS stable, and dungeon loops plus long-term systems like Arcana Cards and Pantheon push you into end-game territory.
